Squeezely integration

You can connect to your Squeezely platform by using a Spotler App with REST API. You can find the Spotler App under the tab Spotlight in Apps in your Squeezely account.

Fill in the REST API Key and Secret from your Spotler Mail+ account to make the connection.

As shown in the image above, there is a variety of possibilities to use the connection for, such as:

Syncing contacts

Initial full sync

As soon as you synchronize between Spotler Mail+ and Squeezely, all contacts will be imported from Spotler Mail+ to Squeezely, and vice versa. This means that all contacts from your Squeezely account will be synced to Spotler Mail+.

Contacts are updated automatically

New or modified contacts are updated automatically. This ensures that the right permission field is updated in Spotler Mail+ when Squeezely receives an opt-in status for a certain profile.

The integration also ensures that modified contacts in Spotler Mail+ are updated in Squeezely on a daily basis, such as unsubscriptions at permission level. You can create up to three different permission folders between Squeezely and Spotler Mail+. If new contacts are added by imports, subscriptions or integrations with other platforms, these contacts will be collected and processed by Squeezely automatically as well. These contacts will subsequently be given a unique Squeezely ID in Spotler Mail+.

Standard mapping of contact fields

The following relevant contact fields are synchronized between both systems by default:

✔️ ExternalContactId (unique ID from Squeezely)
✔️ Email address
✔️ Hashed email address (SHA-256)
✔️ Phone number
✔️ First name
✔️ Last name
✔️ Gender
✔️ Date of birth
✔️ Postal code
✔️ Town/city
✔️ Customer Phase
✔️ Favorite Brand
✔️ Fav. Category 1
✔️ Fav. Category 2
✔️ Fav. Category 3
✔️ Last purchase date
✔️ Last visit date
✔️ Permission(s)

Is it possible to map extra contact fields?

If you have custom fields in Squeezely that you want to keep in sync with Spotler Mail+, such as someone's favorite color, you have to make sure that this field exists in Spotler Mail+ as well. Make sure to use the same name given to the synced profile field in Spotler Mail+ to avoid any confusion.

Then, you can connect these fields in Squeezely. As a user you can set up which field has to be mapped to another. In your Squeezely account, go to Apps > Spotler. Syncing works both ways when you map a Squeezely field to a Spotler Mail+ field.

What is the hashed email address (SHA-256) used for?
The hashed email address (SHA-256) can be used to identify customers that visit your website by clicking a link in an email. You can easily add this feature to all of your links within Spotler Mail+. Go to Settings > Integrations > Webanalytics. Select Extra Parameters and change the status to Active

Next, click on Edit under Extra parameters.

Give Parameter 1 a name and the value: email hash. From that moment onwards, a hashed email address will be added to all of your links.

Syncing audiences

You have a lot of data at your disposal in Squeezely. Think of website behavior, order history, personal preferences and possibly even data from other systems. Based on this data, you can create specific segments that are called audiences.

Syncing an audience

When creating an audience in Squeezely, click on the Spotler channel, Next, click on Save audience. This audience will be synced immediately and updated daily. If contacts are added or dropped as a result, it will be updated automatically in Spotler Mail+ as well.

How can automatic audience sync be switched off?
If you don't want to sync an audience to Spotler Mail+, you can turn this feature off by clicking on the Spotler logo in the audience edit screen in Squeezely. You can turn it on again in the same screen
Is it possible to delete Spotler Mail+ audiences indirectly from your Squeezely account?
It is not possible to delete audiences stored in Spotler Mail+ from your Squeezely account. You will have to delete these manually.

Syncing products

Initial full sync

As soon as you've made an integration between a Spotler Mail+ account and Squeezely, all products are synced from Squeezely automatically.

Products are updated automatically

New or updated products are updated automatically in Spotler Mail+. It gives you the possibility to trigger automations with relevant products in the receiver's email, such as abandoned shopping cart automations.

When an automation is triggered by Squeezely, so called 'automationfields' will refer to the right products (ID's) that are placed in a 'productlistblock'. Products are synced from Squeezely even if you've already added products from an eCommerce platform. The reason for this being that Squeezely doesn't know what product ID's are from other platforms. These products have a visible=false status so that they can be shown in triggered automation emails without showing 'double' products when creating regular newsletters.

Standard mapping of product fields

The following relevant contact fields are synced from Squeezely by default:

✔️ ExternalProductId (unique ID from Squeezely)
✔️ Productname
✔️ Price
✔️ Link (to the product page)
✔️ Image (in 2 different sizes)
✔️ SKU
✔️ Language

Is it possible to map extra product fields?

You can also sync shows, services, holiday homes and more from Squeezely to Spotler Mail+. It doesn't necessarily have to be a physical product from a web shop. You also have the option to add extra custom product features next to the standardized mapped product fields.

Is it possible to sync orders (or bookings) between Squeezely and Spotler Mail+?
It's not standard to sync orders (or bookings) from Squeezely to Spotler Mail+, but it is possible. There's no added value in most cases because you can sync audiences and journeys directly from Squeezely. This is the better option, because then you can combine it with website behavior and other data.

Triggering automations

You can trigger automations in Spotler Mail+ from the Journey Builder in Squeezely. Make sure to give the trigger a logical name in Spotler Mail+, because this name will appear in Squeezely's Journey Builder

When the automation is triggered, the profile of the person in question will be updated in Spotler Mail+ by using the most recent values as registered in Squeezely.

Using dynamic content from Squeezely for personalization

You can show dynamic content from Squeezely in triggered email messages. You will need automationfields - placeholders in the email message in Spotler Mail+. When you set up a Spotler Mail+ automation through a journey in Squeezely, you can see which automationfields are enclosed in the email in order to personalize it. Just make sure the name of the placeholder matches exactly.

Personalizing using relevant products from Squeezely

An automationfield can also be of the 'PRODUCTLIST' type. In that case, you can select a 'Product Set' to be shown in the email sent from the automation. 'Last viewed products' for example. Squeezely will send the ID's of the right products in the email when an automation is triggered. Spotler Mail+ will then ensure that these ID's will be converted into product blocks. It's important to name the placeholder of your message in Spotler Mail+ 'productlist'. This way, you can show one 'Product Set' in the email.

Personal product recommendations

It is possible to place a recommendation block in your email. This block can retrieve personal recommendations from a CDP like Squeezely. Personal recommendations  that apply to the receiver are retrieved the moment the email is sent. The great thing about this is that you can use this feature in triggered emails, even if weren't started in Squeezely. You also have the option of placing multiple 'Product Sets' in the email. The only requirement is for your template to have a personal recommendations block.

Retrieving forms

If you're using Spotler Mail+ forms (or surveys) for marketing purposes, you can automatically send the data entered in the form to Squeezely. You will need to set up a POST request on the form (or survey) in Spotler Mail+. Copy a 'Webhook URL' from your Squeezely account under Apps > Spotler. In Spotler Mail+ you will have to specify which questions from the form you want to send to Squeezely through the POST.  Use the exact name of the (custom) field in Squeezely where you want to send the value in question to.

Measuring email clicks

Contacts that click on a link in an email sent from Spotler Mail+ can be recognized by Squeezely. Make sure the unique contact ID from Squeezely is enclosed by default in every trackable link.

Set it up in your Spotler Mail+ account as follows: go to Settings > Integrations > Webanalytics. Select Extra Parameters and change the status to Active

Next, click on Edit under Extra parameters.

Now you can set up the parameters in the pop-up.

Fill in email hash as the name in Parameter 1. The value is the unique externalContactId from Squeezely. The trackingscript from Squeezely placed on the website is now able to register who landed on your website by clicking in the email.

Connecting multiple merchants

When you're using Squeezely 'merchants', we advise you to link a separate Spotler Mail+ account per merchant. If you don't, new contacts will automatically be added to all Squeezely merchants. Seeing as you've chosen to use various merchants, this is something you probably want to avoid.
